Brentwood City Manager Gus Vina to retire in December
Brentwood City Manager Gus Vina announced on Wednesday that he plans to retire in December.
Vina, 58, told the City Council following the meeting Tuesday night and issued a news release on Wednesday afternoon.
Vina, who has been with the city for the past five years, said he considers his time in Brentwood the “pinnacle” of his career.
“It has been an honor serving this Council, the organization, and this
Community,” he wrote. “It is simply the right time for me to move on and I am humbled and grateful to end my career having served the great city of Brentwood.”
Vina’s retirement will be effective at the end of December.
The city began a search for his replacement immediately, Mayor Bob Taylor said.
“The city was a good fit for him, but after 39 years in public service, it’s now time to retire,” Taylor said. “He served the city well and and I think the city responded back.”
