Man, 25, charged with murder of heavily pregnant Kelly Mary Fauvrelle whose baby son Riley later died
A MAN has this morning been charged with the murder of a heavily pregnant woman whose baby son later died.
Aaron McKenzie, 25, is accused of murdering 26-year-old Kelly Mary Fauvrelle in her bed in Croydon last month.
He has also been charged with the manslaughter of her baby son, Riley, Scotland Yard said.
McKenzie, of Peckham Park Road, South London, also faces one count of possession of an offensive weapon.
Kelly was stabbed to death at home in Thornton Heath, South London, in the early hours of June 29 – in a crime that stunned the nation.
Little Riley – who was delivered in an emergency C-section at the scene – died four days later on July 3.
FAMILY HEARD HER SCREAMS
Postal worker Kelly was found dead in her bedroom by her horrified sister.
The mum-to-be – who was eight months pregnant – had held a baby shower for her unborn son just days earlier.
Kelly’s mum, brothers and sister were all at home when she was attacked in her ground-floor bedroom at the rear of the house.
They heard her screams – but the killer escaped without being seen.
JOY AT BECOMING PREGNANT
Kelly had earlier survived a cancer scare and stunned doctors by becoming pregnant.
Angela Whitter, of the Communication Workers Union, said Kelly was “over the moon when she became pregnant.”
She added: “People were always complimenting her on her growing bump and she was so looking forward to her baby’s arrival.”
