Roster moves: Tui up, two down, minor league shufflings

It’s an off-day (first of two this week!), so of course we’ve got some roster moves:

Sam Tuivailala rejoins the big-league squad just over 11 months after rupturing his achilles and giving me yet another reason to perpetually dislike Rougned Odor. After pinging around to four separate Mariner affiliates for rehab (the poor West Virginia Power must feel terribly left out) and posting decent if slightly rusty numbers overall over 18.1 innings (and also dealing with a case of dead arm), he’s back to Seattle at last. Welcome back, Tui.
Parker Markel returns to Tacoma after one (1) appearance which did... not go well, though that is exclusively the fault of a home run. He’s now given up three home runs in 4.2 MLB IP and sports a 13.50 FIP to match. David McKay joins him on the Sounder South line after two appearances. One of those had no runs and three walks, and the other had three runs and no walks, so if you smashed those innings together you’d either get an incredible reliever or the distilled essence of Hector Noesi (sorry, David). Markel and McKay both had intriguing aspects to their profiles, but both have thus far struggled pretty badly in limited work. Unfortunately, given the PCL’s brand new bouncy ball, they may not see much of a reprieve in Tacoma.

Adding two pitchers to the Travs’ already-full rotation means there are more moves coming out of Arkansas; we’ll update this story on that when we have confirmation. Divish speculated a reliever not on the 40-man might get called to the bigs; Arkansas options include Gonzaga grad Wyatt Mills, who started off the season rough but has rebounded in a big way lately; strikeout master Sam Delaplane; or fireballing closer Art Warren. Reggie McClain in Tacoma is also an option, and if he struggles and has to be removed from the 40-man, might not be as tempting a snack for another team to gobble up off the waiver wire as one of the Arkansas players.
