JOHN BEALE & LEVON VANDERGEEST CLAIM MARSHFIELD FEATURE WINS!
CHAD FERGE – JOEY KUHN/WALTER MANCIL – CHARLIE NICKEL, EARN FEATURE WINS!
Marshfield, WI, (July 13, 2019) – Marshfield Motor Speedway was blessed with another great day of racing as the Wisconsin Challenge Series and the Midwest Trucks Series visited the speedway, here today.
Stevens Point, WI young gun, Gabe Sommers, winner of his last two feature events, stayed hot as he earned fast time honors for the Wisconsin Challenge Series Super Late Models. Sommers toured the half-mile paved oval in a lap time of 18.020 seconds.
Gleason, WI driver Justin Mondeik captured the fast dash, an event in which the top 10 drivers in qualifying compete in. Travis Sauter and Andrew Morrissey finished second and third respectively. Brian Hakala passed Neil Knoblock on the last lap of the qualifier heat, to earn the win.
As starter Patrick Barrett threw the green flag for the start of the WCS 75-lap feature event, it was Justin Mondeik & Travis Sauter leading the field of cars. Mondeik, whom of which has been fast where ever he races, would lead the first 13 laps. On lap 14, it was point leader John Beale completing the pass of Mondeik for the race lead. Travis Sauter would take advantage of the hole that Beale created as he passed Mondeik. Sauter would motor to the second position as he stayed tight to the back side of Beale.
On lap 21 of the 75 lap feature, Gabe Sommers worked his way around Justin Mondeik to earn the third spot. With Mondeik running third, it was Wausau, WI driver MG Gajewski moving up to the fifth position. Gajewski, who recently captured his third straight Flip Merwin Memorial feature event at neighboring State Park Speedway, started closing on Mondeik for the fourth spot.
John Beale was on his game tonight; the Verona, Wisconsin all star driver started lapping cars by lap 35, in a feature event that would run caution free, credit given to a field of talented drivers. As it appeared, this race was going to come down to Beale or Travis Sauter, two drivers that had excellent prepared stock cars! On lap 64, with Beale and Travis Sauter comfortably out front, it was MG Gajewski moving by Mondeik for the fourth position. As the drivers crossed the finish line, it was John Beale winning in a dominating way. Travis Sauter would finish a strong second, as Gabe Sommers finished a respectable third. Rounding out the top five were MG Gajewski and Justin Mondeik.

Twenty one trucks rolled into Marshfield Motor Speedway for the E3 Spark Plugs 40. Coming off his historic win at the Milwaukee Mile 15 year old Levon Van Der Geest grabbed fast time in qualifying.
In the heat races it was Ross Christiansen, Dave Edwards and Jon Ovadal Jr. all finding victory lane.
Ovadal and Chester Ace brought the field to green in the E3 Spark Plug 40 with Ovadal grabbing the early lead. The first test for Ovadal came on lap 11 when the yellow came out for a single truck spin. After the green flew Ovadal once again jumped out to the lead with Van Der Geest in hot pursuit. Farther back in the field the 54 of Jeremy Lepak and 30 of Joe Valento were slicing and dicing their way toward the front.
Van Der Geest was able to hold on to the lead and make it two in a row for the young 15 year old. Lepak crossed the line in second and Ovadal had another solid run in 3rd. James Swan and Joe Valento rounded out the top 5.
It is a short turn around for the Midwest Truck Series as they join the TUNDRA Super Late Models and the Legend cars at Jefferson Speedway next Saturday!

Tim Finstad had another fast car today in the X-Treme 4’s division of racing. Finstad grabbed fast time with a lap time of 21.246 seconds. Heat winner, here today, was Chili, WI driver Charlie Nickel.
Once the X-Treme 4’s took the green flag, it was Charlie Nickel and Dave Auringer running first & second. With Nickel out front, Tim Hintz moved his familiar #1 hot rod past Auringer for the runner up position. On lap 10, it was Dave Auringer returning the favor to Tim Hintz, as he passed Hintz back for the second spot. With Charlie Nickel comfortably out front, it was Finstad passing Auringer and Hintz on the last lap to capture second place.

The exciting Bandits, a stock 4 cylinder division of racing, took to the track again tonight, and it was Chad Ferge edging Evan Pingel in qualifying. Ferge turned a lap time of 23.193 seconds. Pingel earned heat win honors tonight for the Bandits.
In feature action, Michael Meharg grabbed the early lead as he fended off challenges from Cliffton Neubauer and Tony Kvatek. Meharg would lead the first five laps. Chad Ferge made the outside pass of Meharg, for the race lead, as the two drivers motored down the backstretch. With Ferge out front, Evan Pingel made the pass of Meharg for the runner up position. Once the drivers took the checkered flag, it was Chad Ferge grabbing the race win. Pingel would come home in second, with Meharg grabbing the last podium spot.

Capping off a great night of racing at Marshfield Motor Speedway, the 2-Man Cruisers hit the track for their feature event. Jumping out to the early lead was the team of Joey Kuhn & Walter Mancil. With Shane Sikorski & Zach Mykisen holding onto the second spot, it was Craig Carlson & Jason Greenweller in third. With Kuhn/Mancil holding a comfortable lead and motoring to the feature win, it was Sikorski/Mykisen taking second place. Zach Mykisen/Shane Sikorski captured the 2-Man Cruiser heat win tonight.

Next Saturday, Marshfield Motor Speedway will be host to A&J Promotions Demolition Derby. Five divisions, Compact Simple, Mid-Size Simple, Small Truck/Van/SUV, Mid-Size Stock, and Full-Size Simple, will all be competing. Fan gates will open at 12:30, with the Demolition Derby beginning at 2pm.
