Spurs should be going for Real Betis’ reported Lo Celso replacement instead

Tottenham Hotspur have already broken their transfer record this summer by signing Lyon central midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, for a fee that could rise to £62.8m (BBC).

Spurs also reportedly bid £53m for Real Betis and Argentina attacking midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso, earlier in the window. The bid was turned down by the Spanish side as it fell far below the player’s £88m buyout clause (BBC).

However, Spurs are said to still be interested in securing the Argentine this transfer window ahead of the new season, perhaps as a long-term Christian Eriksen replacement (Estadio Deportivo).

While Lo Celso would be a great signing, I would argue that Spurs should be looking at Real Betis’ reported replacement for the Spurs target.
