Tyson questions Joshua: ‘You got any f*cking pride?’

0

Tyson says Joshua will have to answer tough questions about himself if he’s to bounce back against Ruiz.

At this point we know there’s going to be a rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr. — we’re just waiting on the particulars, like a date and location. Joshua was stunned by Ruiz in their first meeting last month, getting stopped and losing three major world titles in the process.

Joshua has since triggered his contractual rematch clause with Ruiz, but there’s a lot of speculation as to whether we’ll see Joshua rebound or collapse once more. In particular, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson weighs-in on the rematch, saying Joshua could win the rematch, but only if he got his mind right.

From WBN:

“He ain’t gonna win it back if his mind’s f***ed up. His mind’s gotta be right, he’s gotta dedicate his life to doing this. He’s gotta stay away from himself.”

Tyson continues by explaining his ‘stay away from himself’ comment, saying he used to seclude himself away in the mountains where you have no choice but to face your inner demons alone. So now Tyson thinks Joshua needs that same kind of introspection in order to come to grips with who he really is deep down inside.

“Are you gonna lay down now? And say, ‘Hey, I don’t want any more’. Do you stay down and give it up? Or do you believe in it? You got any f***ing pride, n*gga? What do you believe in? Do you believe in your ancestors? Your mother, your father, your kids? What do you believe in?

“What have you got to fight for? And then it’s up to him, I don’t believe in s*** maybe. I’ve got money. I don’t believe in any of this s***. And that’s cool too, if it’s not who you are,” he concluded.

If that’s indeed the case, I guess we’ll find out all we really need to know about Joshua sometime this fall.
