Man Utd starlet Greenwood takes penalties with both feet but Solskjaer warns he’s not physically ready for Prem despite hint he could play Chelsea opener
MASON GREENWOOD has so much talent he takes penalties with both feet – but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fears he is not quite ready from Premier League football yet.
Greenwood, 17, has made a major impact during Manchester United’s pre-season with impressive performances in both their friendlies in Australia.
The teenager scored his first goal for the senior side in the 4-0 win over Leeds – leaving Solskjaer hinting he may be involved in his plans for the opening day clash with Chelsea.
But the United boss admits he still has doubts whether the talented teenager will be able to cope with the physical demands of the top flight just yet.
Solskjaer said: “That first goal will be a weight off his shoulders.
“You see a talented boy. He’s got every opportunity to make it as a Man United player.
“He’s got a chance (of being involved against Chelsea), definitely.
“He’s more than capable. It’s a good possibility if he keeps going as he does. It’s difficult to keep players out if they keep playing well.
TWO FEET
“He needs to build his body to get ready for men’s football, which we will gradually do.
“He’s got two feet,” Solskjaer said. “When he takes a penalty sometimes he does it with his left, others with his right.”
Greenwood could be in a position to capitalise on the continuing uncertainty regarding the future of Romelu Lukaku at old Trafford.
Lukaku has missed both matches in Australia with slight niggles, and Inter Milan are yet to come forward with a serious bid match United’s valuation of £75m.

Solskjaer added: “It’s not ideal when you miss training.
“He missed the end of the training session and he missed the game yesterday, so he’s missed two chances to play 45 minutes.
“At this stage, it’s important [to] get everyone fit so hopefully he’ll be available soon.”
