Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell fight back the tears on emotional first day of The Open 

At about 8am on Thursday, Darren Clarke stood on the seventh tee - in sight of the house he owns above the sea here - and put his arm on the shoulder of playing partner James Sugrue.
