Home favorite Rory McIlroy crashed out of the 2019 British Open at Royal Portrush after two rounds, and a pair of pre-tournament longshots are atop the leaderboard through 36 holes. J.B. Holmes and Shane Lowry, who have a combined zero major wins, will start their third rounds at 8-under par, but the likes of Brooks Koepka, Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth aren’t far behind.
