Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Musselburgh, Wolverhampton, Chelmsford and Southwell from Tom Bull
TUESDAY may seem pretty run-of-the-mill to most but for Bully’s Bankers it means opportunity!
There are a couple of interesting contenders across the afternoon and I’m confident of some mid-week success.
Musselburgh
3.00 Gabrial The Tiger – Was a game winner of this contest last year and comes here off the back of a similar victory at Chester, where he made all in gritty fashion.
Now only 1lb higher than last season’s success and Sean Davis’ 3lb claim means he’s actually 2lb better off.
Provided he can negotiate his wide draw, he looks the one to beat.
Wolverhampton
3.15 Wild Edric – Something clicked with Tom Dascombe’s colt at this track last time as he bounced out of the stalls, flew into the lead and made all for an impressive success.
That was completely at odds with most of his previous efforts but he’d dropped a little in the handicap and still looks well-handicapped under a 6lb penalty.
Jane Elliott removes 3lb and if he shows the same gate speed he produced last time then he’ll be very tough to catch.

Chelmsford
6.20 Alkaraama – Sir Michael Stoute’s three-year-old is clearly a work in progress but he’s already demonstrated useful form and acts well at this track.
His win here last time out was visually quite taking and took his record on synthetics to 2-2.
This is a step up in grade but he’s only had four starts and should be capable of much better.
Southwell
8.10 Thibault – Like his namesake, cyclist Thibault Pinot, the six-year-old has shown a new lease of life recently, winning a handicap at Huntingdon last time in fine style.
He’s had a break since then but that’s no issue as he goes well fresh and could be progressive enough to defy an 8lb rise over this longer trip.
