Horrifying moment ‘zombie’ chicken breast ‘comes back to life and crawls off dining table’ as diner screams in terror

0

THE terrifying moment when a piece of raw chicken appears to come back to life on a restaurant table has been caught on video.

Footage shows a plate of raw meat alongside other food on a restaurant table but then shows a piece of chicken begin to twitch.

The chicken begins twitching on the plate

After hoisting itself upwards, the carcass yanks itself off the diner’s plate as a terrified onlooker can be heard screaming.

The chicken then lands up to the floor as the woman continues screaming.

The footage was posted to Facebook by Rie Phillips two weeks ago but it has been seen more than four million times.

It’s unclear where it was taken but chopsticks on a plate would suggest it was a Japanese, Chinese or Korean restaurant.

People who posted comments suggesting the movements were caused by nerve endings that have not yet died.

One person said “usually because the meat is so fresh the muscles can still move” while a second added “it was so fresh that some of the muscles are still firing off signals”.:

Others saw dark humour in it with one saying: “Hell no if my food is walking, I’m walking too.”

TERRIFYING

Chickens have been known to survive and keep moving despite losing their heads – hence the term “headless chicken”.

One in Thailand reportedly managed to survive for a week with only a bloodied stump where its head used to be.

The chicken that survived longest without its head was a plucky bird called Mike, who lived for 18 months after losing his head in the US from 1945 to 1947.

Farmer Lloyd Olsen, of Colorado, was sent out to the yard by his wife to bring back a chicken.

Raw meat is also known to move of its own accord.

Footage take in Guangzhou, southern China, shows a hunk of beef twitching furiously while hanging in a butcher shop.

Someone behind the camera can be heard gasping as beef moves incessantly and can be then heard saying “enough”.

Health experts said the freakish spasms were caused by nerve endings that had not died.

It then begins to move off the plate, across the table and then on to the floor
