Dad fuming after discovering son’s £15 ‘mega value’ Sports Direct wellies should’ve been £14
A DAD was left fuming at Sports Direct after spotting his son’s £15 ‘mega value’ wellies should have been £14.
Richard Elvidge, 36, claimed staff had priced up the Star Wars boots by slapping a sticker over the top of a previous tag.
The dad, who bought the wellies for his eight-year-old son Lewis, from Sports Direct in Fosse Park, Leicestershire, fumed: “It’s a disgrace. I feel conned.
“It’s insulting to their millions of customers.”
Photos taken by Richard on a recent shopping trip show the £15 sticker peeling off with a £14 tag clearly underneath.
Richard claims he checked around 40 other pairs of wellies on the same rack at the store at Fosse Park all with the same more expensive sticker covering the tag.
He said: “If it had been one or two, then fair enough, it’s human error.
“But there were loads. It was exactly the same on each one. There were more than 40.
“And for saying they are boasting it was mega value then it’s very bad.
“It’s ripping people off.”
The dad has vowed never to shop at Sports Direct again.

Sun Online found the wellies listed for £15 on the chain’s website today. It is not known how much they are selling for in other branches of Sports Direct.
Despite the pricing blunder, Richard said: “I’ll never go back again. It’s wrong.”
Sports Direct has been contacted by Sun Online but not available for comment.
