The Gandhinagar police will probe the allegations of bigamy and cheating levelled against senior Gujarat cadre IAS officer Gaurav Dahiya by a Delhi- based woman earlier this month, officials said on Wednesday.
While the Delhi police had sent the woman's application to their counterparts in Gandhinagar for further probe, Dahiya has also approached the Sector-7 police in the Gujarat capital with his plea, in which he alleged that he has been honey-trapped and blackmailed by the woman, they said.
"Both the complaints are in the form of applications. The woman's application has been sent to us by Delhi police for further probe. Dahiya, too, had given his application to us few days back. We will conduct an inquiry into both these applications," Gandhinagar district superintendent of police, Mayur Chavda, said.
Dahiya, a 2010-batch IAS officer, was transferred to the General Administration Department (GAD) as a Joint Secretary on July 22. He was earlier serving as the Mission
