The Madera Police Department has released footage from a chase on Wednesday. Footage shows an officer chasing a man that was allegedly driving a stolen car. At the end of the chase, the man jumped out of the car and held his hand up as if he were pointing a gun at the officer. He then charged at the patrol car. The officer got out of the car and a short foot chase started. The chase ended when the officer used his taser on the suspect. The man was later identified as Curtis Kirkland. Police say that Kirkland had warrants out of Fresno County for burglary and assault on a custodial officer. He also had heroin inside of the stolen car. He was booked at Madera County Department of Corrections.
