Teenagers run in panic after stabbing on notorious London housing estate

0

Footage has emerged of the moment dozens of people fled from the scene of a stabbing in last night.

Teenagers screamed as they ran in fear through the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham.

The chaotic scenes took place during a policed rave on the estate, which hundreds of young people attended.

Initially there were reports that someone had been shot, after a police officer heard a bang shortly before midnight, but Scotland Yard later confirmed no gun had been fired.

A dispersal order was put in place for 48 hours from this morning giving police the power to remove people from the estate to prevent further disorder.

Broadwater Farm was the scene of a major riot in October 6, 1985, in which PC Keith Blakelock and Cynthia Jarrett died.

At the time PC Blakelock was the first serving officer to die in a UK riot for 152 years.
