SOUTHWELL racecourse was forced to abandon the final two races on the card due to the extreme heat.
The track had already taken action to start racing earlier, but the decision was made as the temperatures continued to rise.

The racecourse had announced on Wednesday that they had moved the races to earlier in the day with the first race taking place at 11.25am, and the final race at 2.30pm.
However, a Stewards Enquiry was called after the fifth race and after discussions between officials the decision was made not to continue racing.
The final two races were due to be run over two and half miles and three miles.
