Jacob deGrom continues day-time dominance, gets early run support as Mets beat the Padres

For the first time in Jacob deGrom’s major league career, the Mets scored four runs in the first inning of one his starts.

That would be all the Mets (47-55) would score, but with deGrom cooking, it was all they needed in a 4-0 home win over the Padres (48-54) on Thursday afternoon at Citi Field.
