Muggers stamped on students head and FaceTimed his mum to show injuries
A student was so badly beaten that his attackers left a footprint on his head when they mugged him.
Jake Molan suffered a traumatic brain injury by Daniel Lloyd and Kyron Gee who FaceTimed his mum to show her his injuries.
They claimed they discovered him in that state but left the scene with his bank cards to buy a pregnancy test for one of their girlfriends and food.
They pretended to be helping Jake after discovering him ‘heavily intoxicated’ at McDonald’s in Worcester city centre after being refused entry to Bushwackers nightclub.
They led him to a secluded part of the city close to the racecourse where they launched their attack at around 2am.
When they called Jake’s mother, Lloyd, 21, and Gee, 23, told her that they needed his PIN to unlock the phone to call an ambulance.
However, they left the scene without getting help and it was not for another three hours before he got medical attention.
The pair gasped in the dock as they were both jailed for the attack, Lloyd for six years and Gee for over four years.
They both tried to blame one another for the attack with Lloyd claiming he was at his girlfriend’s house.
The court heard Gee was ‘entirely remorseful’ and had a difficult childhood.
Judge Nicolas Cartwright described the robbery as ‘a truly shocking offence’ and the call to the victim’s mother as ‘cynical’.
He said: ‘You pretended that you needed the code from her to unlock his telephone in order to be able to raise assistance from the ambulance service and, not surprisingly, she gave you the code.’
He added: ‘His mother plainly was very much affected, being desperately worried about her son over a period of two-and-a-half hours.’
