MLB Updated White Sox Top 30 Prospect List with 2019 Draft Picks

MLB.com has updated their Top 30 prospect list to include players from the 2019 draft. White Sox #1 draft choice Andrew Vaughn emerges as the #3 prospect in the White Sox system. He is the #23 overall prospect, and the #1 first base prospect in all of MLB, so we have that going for us... which is nice.

Matthew Thompson and Andrew Dalquist, high school pitchers taken in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, come in at #15 and 16 respectively in the Sox system, but don't crack the MLB top 100 list.

The biggest jump from a player already in the White Sox system came from Jonathan Stiever, who was #27 in the MLB pre-season rankings, but who now finds himself as the White Sox #8 prospect. The 5th round choice in 2018 is having himself quite a nice season on the low and high A ball teams.

Luis Robert, he of the .347 average and 1.027 OPS across three minor league levels this year, sits as the White Sox #1 prospect, #2 outfield and #5 overall MLB prospect.

Robert, Vaughn, Michael Kopech and Dylan Cease give the White Sox 4 of the top 25 prospects on MLB's top 100 list. Add in Nick Madrigal (#43) and the Sox have 5 players in the top 50. Not too shabby.

Ian Dawkins, much to the chagrin of many including this young reporter, did not make the list. Insert frowny face here.
