Israel Strikes Syrian Army Position In Al-Quneitra
On August 1, the Israeli military struck a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the southern governorate of al-Quneitra.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the targeted position is located in al-Buryqah hill in the western countryside of al-Quneitra.
“An Israeli aggression with a missile on al-Buryqah hill in Rasm al-Sad in the western al-Quneitra countryside, losses were limited to materials only,” a short press release by the SANA reads.
Last week, a similar Israeli attack targeted military equipment of the army in the towns of Tell al-Harrah and Tell al-Ahmar in Syria’s southern region.
Initial reports indicate that the new attack was carried out with a precision-guided ground-to-ground missile, likely a Spike NLOS. The same type of missiles was used in the attack on Tell al-Harrah and Tell al-Ahmar.
The motive behind these Israeli attack remains unclear. However, Israeli and Arab sources claim that the targeted positions hosted Hezbollah forces or even Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel.
