THE UK’s worst football team has finally won after 73 games.
Fort William beat Nairn County 5-2 on Wednesday in a North of Scotland Cup clash.
Their last victory was in April 2017 when they defeated Strathspey Thistle 4-1.
The club tweeted: “Unbelievable stuff. A great night at Claggan Park tonight. An unbelievable feeling. We would like to thank everyone who came along.
“And we would like to thank everyone online, around the world who have celebrated with us. Your support doesn’t go unnoticed.”
Jack Brown and Donald Morrison were among the goalscorers for The Fort, who are managed by Russell MacMorran.
Nine loan signings from Scottish Championship side Inverness have helped Fort William, whose losing streak featured in a recent BBC Scotland documentary.
The team were congratulated by clubs across the country, as well as by the SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford.

“A great story of perseverance and dedication.
“No matter how many times they got knocked down, they dusted themselves down and went again. Good luck moving forward!”
