R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty & Gets Bail Denied in Sexual Assault Case in Chicago

R. Kelly is pleading not guilty.

The 52-year-old musician entered the plea in response to a number of sexual assault charges after being accused of sexual abuse by multiple women and girls on Friday (August 2) in his trial in Chicago, Ill.

He was denied bail during the hearing, and immediately remanded into custody according to courtroom reporters.

R. Kelly was arrested in July, accused of exploiting five alleged victims.

The charges include racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor and sexual exploitation of a child. There are also accusations that he targeted women and girls at concerts and venues to allegedly be abused.
