Lukaku seen training at Anderlecht for a second day after being frozen out by Man Utd
ROMELU LUKAKU has been spotted training with Anderlecht for a second day in a row after being frozen out by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Belgian striker, 26, spent Monday training with Vincent Kompany’s team and was there again today as Manchester United got down to training at Carrington.
Lukaku was tipped to move to Juventus but that deal appears to have fallen apart thanks to Paulo Dybala.
United pulled the plug on the swap after Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun demanded a £13.7million fee to help the Red Devils obtain the Argetine’s image rights from a third party.
Old Trafford chiefs were “disgusted” by the stunt and opted to pull out of the deal.
Lukaku has been chasing a move to Serie A since the end of last season, with Inter Milan the early front-runners for his signature.
Antonio Conte’s side were unable to find the money for the £75m-rated star – having a £54m bid rejected – with Juventus then swooping.
UNDER-18s COACH
But while officials from the two clubs have been meeting on and off for the past few weeks, Lukaku has been frozen out at United and told to train wherever he wants – opting for old Belgium team-mate Kompany’s new home.
Reports in Belgium claim Lukaku sent a message to Anderlecht’s Under-18s coach – and the striker spent the day “coaching and encouraging” them.
The former Everton hitman missed his sixth pre-season game in a row when United played AC Milan in Cardiff.
And he headed to his native Belgium on Monday were he was seen getting down to training in the purple of Anderlecht.
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur shared the picture of Lukaku and claimed Old Trafford bosses desperately want to sell the player.
MORE MAN UTD STORIES
United players are thought to have had Monday off as they prepare for their final training push before their Premier League season opener against Chelsea on Sunday.
While the likes of David De Gea, Alexis Sanchez and boss Solskjaer all arrived at the Aon Training Complex on Tuesday, Lukak was a notable absentee.
Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Chris Smalling were also seen driving into Carrington on Tuesday morning.
