Senior BJP leader, former Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj no more

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and former External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj has passed away. According to initial reports, Swaraj suffered a cardiac arrest.
The senior BJP leader was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in a critical condition late on Tuesday night, according to ANI news. She was 67.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other Union Ministers have reached the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet has stated that Swaraj’s demise is a personal loss and that she will be remembered fondly for everything that she’s done for India.
A glorious chapter in Indian politics comes to an end. India grieves the demise of a remarkable leader who devoted her life to public service and bettering lives of the poor. Sushma Swaraj Ji was one of her kind, who was a source of inspiration for crores of people.

Hours before her death, she had posted a tweet praising the Indian Prime Minister, supposedly for the recent ‘Kashmir-move’.
Her final tweet:
