GLAMOROUS racegoers were on fine form at Haydock Park today but not FURLONG as torrential rain turned Ladies Day into a total washout.
Many of Merseyside’s most fashionable fillies dressed to impress for a day at the races but the appalling weather conditions stole the show.

And howling gales and torrential downpours meant the only must-have fashion accessory at the race track was the good old umbrella.
However, the only long faces were in the stables as those that made the effort to look the best at the track refused to let the wet weather rain on their parade.
The shocking weather front certainly made it difficult to decide exactly who had won the official Style Stakes – which sees £2,000 handed to the day’s most-stylish racegoer.
Later on tonight, fashion guru Gok Wan is due to turn DJ for the race track’s ever-popular after show party.
