[Volleyball] Volleyball Falcons Tabbed Sixth in KCAC Preseason Poll
WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons have been picked to finish sixth in the KCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league released today (Aug. 9).
The Ottawa University Braves, after finishing second in the conference last year and winning the postseason tournament, received 11 first-place votes to come in first in the poll.
Kansas Wesleyan University finished second with one first-place vote, followed by the University of Saint Mary in third.
Last season's regular season champion, McPherson College, was picked fourth and snagged the final first-place tally.
The Falcons also wound up tied for sixth in the KCAC last season before winning two matches in the postseason tourney to advance to the conference semifinals for the first time since the 2015 campaign.
Friends, under 16th year head coach Martin Ayin, will begin the upcoming season at the KCAC Fall Fling on Aug. 23-24 in Hutchinson, Kan. The Falcons' home opener is a non-conference bout with Tabor College on Sept. 21 and the KCAC opening match is Sept. 25 at Avila University.
