Meghan Markle and Prince Harry split up at Madame Tussauds to reflect duchess’ ‘celebrity status’ over her royal ties

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are splitting up – when it comes to their waxworks at Madam Tussauds that is.

The London-based attraction revealed the wax figures of the duke and duchess will go different rooms for the first time – with Meghan separated from the royal family.

Meghan’s waxwork will be placed in the glitzy party room full of her showbiz friends, to reflect her A-list roots rather than her royal status.

She will be among the figures of close friends Tom Hardy, the Beckhams and Priyanka Chopra – who all attended her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s figure will be housed among the rest of the royal family.

Steve Davies, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “At Madame Tussauds London we’re always listening to what people have to say about their favourite stars.

“Meghan continues to carve out her own modern take on life as a Royal and we want to mirror her independent celebrity status in the attraction.

“It’s not necessarily forever – and we’re not splitting our loved-up couple!

“We’re just allowing Meghan to mingle in her more-familiar celebrity circle for a while.”

Meghan was immortalised in wax before the royal wedding last year, and has so far stood next to her Prince Charming at the attraction ever since.

The move meant that fans of the stylish duchess could snap a selfie with her – if they hadn’t managed to meet her in real life.

At her unveiling, the statue of Meghan was dressed in an elegant green dress, a replica of the £437-frock she wore when announcing her engagement alongside Harry last November.

She was also wearing a replica of her sparkling diamond engagement ring, believed to be worth more than £55,000.

Prince Harry’s waxwork was created to mark his 30th birthday, and saw him looking dapper in a smart suit.

Madame Tussauds London welcomes a staggering 10million guests each year, with online pre-booked tickets starting at £29.

We shared how Meghan and Harry will be known as the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton when they ‘visit Scotland this summer’.

And the frugal Queen uses bedsheets from the Royal Yacht Britannia that was decommissioned in 1997.

Meanwhile, a royal insider claims animal lover Meghan Markle will ‘go fly fishing’ whilst visiting Balmoral to ‘please Prince Charles’.
