Bury have offer on the table as staff implore Steve Dale to sell with EFL expulsion looming

BURY FC have received an offer to buy the financially stricken club and their staff have begged owner Steve Dale to accept it.

In a statement from staff released on Bury’s official website, they describe the bid as ‘the only lifeline for the future of the club’.

The Shakers had their first three fixtures of the season suspended as the EFL did not receive sufficient evidence to suggest the Gigg Lane club could pay their creditors.

And with the prospect of a fourth cancelled game looming, the EFL have given them until 9am Thursday to demonstrate how they plan to meet their financial commitments.

‘ONLY LIFELINE FOR THE CLUB’

Dale has stated he will not sell the club until financial stability is restored though it remains unclear how this will be achieved with him at the helm.

Despite Dale’s stance, desperate staff appealed to him to accept the bid in a statement that read: “We can confirm that today we have received an offer for the sale of Bury Football Club, one that we all at the Club believe is a very good offer.

“This offer has been conveyed to Steve Dale and we are still waiting to hear from him.

“This offer is the only lifeline for the future of the Club and we implore Steve Dale to accept it, as it has the full backing of all of the senior staff at Bury FC.”

SunSport exclusively revealed Dale has received death threats and parcels of poo in response to his perceived mismanagement of the club.

But Dale claims he is being made a scapegoat for things that happened before his arrival last December.
