United Airlines updates alcohol policy

(CNN) – United Airlines updated its alcohol policy after two pilots were arrested in Scotland for being intoxicated before a flight to New Jersey.

The new policy now says pilots can’t drink alcohol 12 hours before reporting for work. The policy is now more strict than the Federal Aviation Administration’s 8 hour policy.

The new rule went into effect August 10th.
