NEW ITV drama Deep Water got off to an explosive start with an indecent proposal, a raunchy bathroom romp and a missing teen.
The series focuses on three woman struggling with moral and ethical dilemmas – here are the unanswered questions and big moments from the premiere episode…
1) What’s up with Fergus?
The series starts with a boat trip across Lake Windermere.
Kate Riverty has taken her children and their friends out on the water.
She takes a picture of her son Fergus, with his pal Sam.
However, after Kate turns her attention to taking a picture of her daughter, we see the two children argue – with Sam taunting Fergus, and threatening to push him overboard.
However, as Kate’s back is turned, we hear a splash and Sam is in the water – we only hear the splash, so did Fergus push him in?
Throughout the episode it becomes more and more apparent that their might be a dark side to young Fergus.
2) Will Roz resort to prostitution to support her family?
Physiotherapist Roz Toovey is stony broke and deep in debt due to the actions of her gambling addicted partner Winston.
Desperate to protect her daughter Abby and keep a roof over all their heads, she works every hour she can.
But with bailiffs at the door, and her home under threat, she has hit rock bottom.
One of her wealthy clients Scott, then makes her a very indecent proposal and offers to pay her for sex during their physiotherapist sessions.
Running out of options, and after breaking down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, she calls Scott to help her get her car towed – which he pays for.
He then says that the “offer still stands” – but will she take it?
3) Will Lisa’s husband find out about her romp with Adam?
Throughout the episode it is clear that over-stretched, working mother Lisa Kallisto never lives up to the expectations she sets herself.
Happily married to taxi driver Joe, she is mother to three kids and runs a dog kennels business.
But Lisa can’t help comparing herself to Kate.
Lisa is delighted when Kate invites her to a dinner party, but the evening takes an unexpected turn when she meets Kate’s charming brother-in-law Adam.
He gives her compliments all evening, and even though her husband is waiting for her downstairs, he follows her to the bathroom and the pair of them have sex.
Haunted by her transgression at the dinner party, she goes back to Kate’s house to find her underwear.
After heading to the bathroom she is met by Fergus who asks her what she is doing – he then hints that he might know what happened.
4) What’s up with the Rivertys’ marriage?
Kate Riverty wants the world to think she is supermum.
She makes the best cakes, organises the best play dates, and is married to the handsome and wealthy Guy.
But after the dinner party is over and everyone leaves, we see that all is not what it seems as Guy picks up his jacket and leaves the family home – insinuating their marriage is a pretence and he doesn’t actually live there.
Also, as he leaves, Guy goes to say goodbye to his daughter Lucinda, but she shrugs him off and reuses to speak to him.
This makes us wonder what has happened to the seemingly perfect Riverty family – have Guy and Kate split? Is this why is daughter is angry with him?
5) Where has Lucinda disappeared to?
Determined to bury her guilt, Lisa ups her workload and takes on too much.
Overwhelmed, she makes a HUGE error when she forgets to pick up Kate’s teenage daughter Lucinda from school.
Lucinda then goes missing.
Lisa heads to the Riverty family to apologise and see what she can do, only to find that the blame for Lucinda’s disappearance lays firmly at her door – but where is she?
