Harry Maguire already established as Man Utd’s dressing room leader just two weeks after £80m transfer from Leicester
HARRY MAGUIRE is already emerging as Manchester United’s leader — less than a fortnight after joining.
The £80million defender has had a massive impact in the dressing room, according to club sources.
Maguire, 26, shone as a United side, with an average age of just 24, crushed Chelsea 4-0 on Sunday.
And boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is impressed at how the ex-Leicester star inspires team-mates in training.
A United source said: “He’s the leader United have missed for some time.
“The players were immediately excited by the prospect of him arriving.
“He’s given the back-four renewed confidence, not just by his ability but his words.
“The team feel stronger defending set-pieces now.”
Maguire was nicknamed ‘the beast’ by Paul Pogba after shining on his debut.
United want him to partner Victor Lindelof, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw as full-backs.
And Solskjaer believes that injuries and constant chopping changing affected the reigns of Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.
The Norwegian said: “Any successful team will have to build from the back and have a foundation to play from.

“We always say ‘you have to earn the right to win a game of football’. You earn it by defending well, you have a foundation and hopefully a settled team.
“Hopefully, we won’t have to make too many changes. Over the last few years, I’ve always had the feeling there’s been so many players with bad luck concerning injuries.
“Both Jose and Louis, maybe even David, had to chop and change the back four, especially the centre-backs. Hopefully we can get a settled line-up.”
