[Volleyball] Tigers Split Matches on the Second Day of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge

Butte, Mont.. – The Tigers had another strong showing at the second day of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge.  After falling to #21 University of Providence (Mont.) yesterday evening, the Tigers bounced back and defeated Carroll College (Mont.) in five games to start their day.  Rachel Newport (SO/Avon, Ind.) led the Tigers with a career-high 17 kills in the match, while Janelle Skinner (SO/Bolingbrook, Ill.) contributed 27 assists, and Kayleigh Kastelein (JR/Dunlap, Ill. ) added an additional 25 assists.

The afternoon match pitted ONU against the 12th ranked College of Idaho Yotes.  The Tigers gave great effort for four games, but ultimately the Yotes won the match three games to one.  Katarina Nikolic (SO/Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro) led Olivet with 11 kills, while Kastelein contributed 15 assists.  Tessa Scarlati (SO/Lemont, Ill.) also had a strong match, contributing 22 digs and two service aces.
