Edwin Diaz expected to avoid injured list

Edwin Diaz may avoid an injury stint after all.

The Mets closer exited his relief appearance in the ninth inning of the Mets’ 9-5 loss against the Braves on Saturday night with what the Mets are calling trap tightness. Diaz said he felt the troublesome ache while he was warming up in the bullpen.
