Mets Wild Card Chances Slipping Away

The Mets entered their series last weekend against the Braves at 67-60 coming off a three-game series of the Indians and only one and half games out of the second Wild Card spot.

After getting swept by the Braves, the Mets have lost their first two games against the Cubs and see themselves an a game that is essentially a must-win. The Mes enter their Thursday night game against the Cubs four games back from the second Wild Card and slipped behind the Phillies and Brewers in the chase.

Luckily for the Mets – in a game that will decide is they are three games of five games out of a playoff spot – they have ace Jacob deGrom on the mound.

The losing streak has torpedoed the Mets playoff odds by FanGraphs from 51.4% on August 22 to currently being at 19.6%.
