Police search for suspect connected to shooting in east Austin neighborhood

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Thursday afternoon, authorities responded to the scene of a shooting in an east Austin neighborhood, according to a tweet from Austin-Travis County EMS.

Medics were dispatched to the 2700 block of Rogge Lane near Manor Road. They said a man was found at the scene with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated.

The call was initially reported as a shoot/stab call but Austin Police Department later said that it was classified as an aggravated assault.

As of 4 p.m., Austin police are still on the scene and searching for a suspect. Police don’t have a description of the suspect at this time.
