Liverpool star baffled by newspaper claim - report

Liverpool have no imminent plans to open fresh contract talks with defender Virgil van Dijk, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper claim on their website that van Dijk is baffled by the reports, and has not tried to force an improved deal that would see him become one of the club’s highest earners.

The Liverpool Echo report that the 28-year-old is happy at Anfield, and will not look to rock the boat with any demands in the near future.
