Australia defeated England by 185 runs in the fourth Test in Manchester to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series. With the victory, Australia also retained the Ashes. Joe Denly (53 from 123 balls) and Jos Buttler (34 off 111 balls) showed resistance on the final day before England were bowled out for 197 in the second innings.
