ARDA TURAN has been handed a two year and eight month jail sentence after a nightclub bust-up with a famous singer.
The on-loan Barcelona man reportedly broke Berkay Sahin’s nose in an attack last October before being accused of brandishing a gun after following him to the hospital.
Turan, 32, was found guilty of intentional injury and possession of an unlicensed weapon although the sentence is suspended.
It means he won’t face time behind bars unless he commits another crime.
The row between the pair started over accusations that Turan had approached the pop star’s wife.
He was said to have told her: “If I was not married, I wouldn’t miss a girl like you.”
Reports say Berkay then went up to confront the player, who has 100 caps for Turkey.
It is claimed the singer sent his wife home so he could “talk man to man” before trouble erupted.
Bizarrely the feud continued in the hospital where Turan told Berkay: “I didn’t know she is your wife. I’m sorry, just kill me.”
Following the court case, in which Turan was absent, he apologised for the “instant error” in a written statement.
He added that he was “trying to defend himself against slander”.
Turan was also acquitted of sexual harassment in the same case.

Berkay told journalists: “We have been waiting for an apology since the first day.”
Turan is currently on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir from Barcelona.
Just four months into his move, he was handed a 10-match ban after earning a red card for shoving and verbally abusing an assistant referee during a 1-1 draw with Sivaspor.
