Washington man formerly convicted begins second murder trial

LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) - A second murder trial has begun for a Washington man previously convicted, but he claims self-defense.

The Everett Herald reports that defense attorney Phil Sayles says 27-year-old Encarnacion Salas told him he stabbed 40-year-old Jesse Cardenas Lopez in self-defense in 2014.
