WATCH: Kim Clijsters is coming out of retirement for a second time
Kim Clijsters is giving tennis another go. The former world No. 1 announced Thursday that, at 36 years old, she’s coming out of retirement for a second time.
The four-time Grand Slam champion retired in 2007 to start a family, came back two years later and then retired again in 2012. The mother of three has focused on raising her kids the past seven years, but said in a video she tweeted Thursday that she misses playing pro tennis.
Clijsters told the WTA Insider Podcast that she hopes to be back on the court in January, but won’t rush a return if her body isn’t ready.
