Crystal Palace loanee Ryan Inniss hit with increased five-game ban for BITING West Ham kid Reece Hannam
NEWPORT ace Ryan Inniss has landed a five-game ban for biting.
The Crystal Palace loanee, 24, was sent off over an off-the-ball clash with West Ham Under-21s star Reece Hannam.
And The FA have decided the incident, which occurred in the 90th minute of an EFL Cup clash, merits further punishment.
Inniss joined League Two Newport County on a season-long loan last month and saw red after coming on as a sub.
Newport boss Michael Flynn said: “Their player said he got bitten, so I’ll have a look at that and find out what happened.
“If he has, it’s inexcusable and I won’t be fighting his corner.”
Eagles centre-back Inniss came on as a sub and was shown a straight red card – the second of his career – which means an automatic three-match ban.
Newport are the ninth club Inniss has been loaned to during his Palace career.
He made one senior appearance for the Eagles – a Carabao Cup win over Swansea last year.
