Thumri Festival to send message of harmony, brotherhood
The 9th edition of the Thumri Festival will aim at spreading the message of harmony and brotherhood through classical music performances, Delhi government's Art, Culture and Language department announced Friday.
Organised by Sahitya Kala Parishad, the festival will open on September 23 at the Kamani Auditorium here.
"Thumri Festival is being organised on a grand scale for the past few years. The enthusiasm of the audience to attend such musical events is a sign that our effort to promote the Hindustani classical music is being paid off.
"Culture is the best way to send the message of harmony and brotherhood to the people because Delhi has a rich classical music culture. I believe that this program will not only give a chance to people to explore the world of Thumri, but also ensure that we reach out to people from across the spectrum," Sisodia said in a statement.
