'Where's my favorite dictator?' Trump reportedly asked a room full of Egyptian officials

Kim Jong Un must be jealous.

That's because it seems at last month's G7 conference, President Trump replaced him with a new "favorite dictator." While waiting for a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, Trump walked into a room of American and Egyptian officials and asked "Where's my favorite dictator?," several people who were in the room tell The Wall Street Journal.

Sisi has a pretty dismal record when it comes to human rights, rounding up and arresting more than 60,000 LGBTQ people, athiests, and other political opponents, per Human Rights Watch. He has also consistently racked up more power for his administration, and won his most recent reelection in an allegedly unfair process.

But Trump reportedly congratulated Sisi for earning an unbelievable 97 percent of the vote early last year, and in the months since, their mutual affection apparently hasn't faded. Trump reportedly called out the confusing question in a loud voice, and while witnesses say they believed it to be a joke, "his question was met by a stunned silence," the Journal writes.
