Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn is given star-studded send-off as she leaves the cobbles after seven years
CORONATION Street stars came out in force for Kate McGlynn as the actress said goodbye to the cobbles for good.
The 26-year-old actress finished her final scenes as Sinead Tinker and so her now former co-stars made sure she had the send off she deserves.
The cast and crew descended on celebrity hot spot and tiki nightclub Mahiki in Manchester on Friday 13th.
Posing in front of a floral wall before entering, the stars looked ready for a big party.
Katie wore a baby pink PVC dress, a pink fluffy handbag and see-through heels.
She accessorised with two delicate necklaces.
The star was joined by Alexandra Mardell (Emma Brooker), Nathan Graham (James Bailey) and Anthony Cotton (Sean Tully), as well as Sally-Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor), Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby ) and Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew).
Katie’s last scenes are set to air soon, with Wednesday’s double-bill showing Sinead and her new husband Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) receiving the bad news from doctors – that Sinead has terminal cervical cancer.
Sinead found the lump on her wedding day before doctors confirmed she had just months to live.
Katie told Philip Schofield and Holly Willougby on This Morning that she sobbed through her last scenes.
She said: “It’s heartbreaking, but it’s real life. When we were doing scenes that day, I thought that I can’t imagine this happening to me.
“Deep down [Sinead] knows [about her cancer], but she makes sure she enjoys her wedding, she’s so brave.”
Also, the actress said she told bosses she wanted her to die: “I was talking to [Corrie bosses] Iain [MacLeod] and Kate [Oates] about this story.

“I told them that I think I might want to leave due to not having a big storyline, but when I was given this, I told her that I want her to die as life isn’t a fairytale.”
Spoiler photos show Daniel considering suicide after Sinead’s death, as he struggles with grief and the prospect of raising their child, Bertie, by himself.
He walks to the edge of the canal, before slumping into beer kegs with a bottle of whisky.
Daniel looks at a baby’s dummy before passing out.
