Carbahn Audi On Michelin Pilot Challenge Pole
The championship-leading #39 Carbahn Motorsports Audi R8 GT4 will lead the field to the green after Tyler McQuarrie set a time of 1:30.876 seconds to put the #39 Audi on pole position.
That time was 0.789 seconds quicker than the next best time which was set by Paul Holton in the #75 Compass Racing McLaren 570s. Holton’s time was a 1:31.665.
That time edged out Jesse Lazare in the #69 Motorsports in Action McLaren 570s whose best time was a 1:31.742.
Hyundai and Bryan Herta Autosport led a 1-2 in TCR qualifying with the #98 Hyundai Veloster N getting the better of their teammates in the #21 Hyundai Veloster N by just two-tenths of a second.
Michael Lewis was the qualifying driver for the #98 Hyundai while Mason Filippi had the controls of the #21 Hyundai when he set a 1:33.337.
Third in TCR was Nick Galante in the #23 Fast MD Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Galante’s best time was a 1:33.354, 0.017 seconds off of Filippi’s time.
The Michelin Pilot Challenge race is set for Saturday afternoon at 3:05 local time or 1:05 BST on Sunday morning.
