Yobs had burst in to the Greggs and “demanded coffee, became threatening to the counter staff and started throwing stuff”, Hull Daily Mail reports.
The staff member was too terrified to attend work the next day after the drama unfolded on Monday at around 3pm.
Cops have made more than 400 arrests in the city as part of their Operation Ignition crackdown on antisocial behaviour.
One landlord in the area said he was threatened with acid and bleach, as well as having rusty nails thrown at him.
Hull Patrol Chief Inspector Matt Peach said: “Hull is a fantastic city, with a lot to offer to residents and visitors alike and we are committed to working with the local community to make sure that it stays that way.
“Of course, like all cities there are issues and these are as concerning to us as they are to you but this is why we continue to deal with those who commit crime and antisocial behaviour, working with businesses and other agencies to try and find long term solutions.”
