You don't need to kill a game off by scoring more than 1 if you don't concede. Arsenal were masters of preserving the 1-0 lead. The starting XI have proved to be masters of keeping possession and not allowing the opposition a chance. So if that starting XI gets us in front why not let them finish the job?

The downfall last season was that we'd be dominating but then concede a goal out of nothing because we were too open. Up until the Wigan match we never relinquished a leading position. Maybe we need to be better at closing matches out rather than going for a second goal. Against Wigan we were 1-0 up playing against 10 men and we went for goals and lost. Against Derby in the play-offs we were 1-0 up (2-0 on aggregate) we kept going for more goals and left ourselves open allowing Derby to start getting chances.
