Eddy Merckx steel hierarchy
1980-1984: One model produced - Eddy Merckx (Professional, SL/SP or 531)
second half of 1984: Pro (SLX or 753) appears at the top, 3-Athlete (501) at the bottom, EM (Professional) comes in second place.
1985 - 1986: Corsa v.1 appears in second place from the end, i.e. :
- Pro (in 1986 the name was changed to Corsa Extra, the Criterium model appeared)
- EM late
- Corsa v.1
- 3-Athlete
1987 - 1988:
- Corsa Extra (SLX or 753), Criterium (SLX)
- Corsa v.2 ;From this moment on, Corsa - regardless of the tube used (SL/SP, 531, Thron, Dedacciai 01) - always takes second place from the end.
- Instead of 3-Athlete the Strada model is produced; from now on the Strada - regardless of the tube used (Matrix, Cromor, Strada, Gara/Cromor, Brain) - always takes the lowest position in the EMC hierarchy.
1989: the Century model (653) is introduced, it takes the place of the Criterium model - it is difficult to determine the position in relation to the Corsa Extra. Instead of the Corsa Extra 753, the Grand Prix model appears, which does not change its position in the hierarchy:
- Corsa Extra, Grand Prix
- Century
- Corsa
- Strada
1990: Century, change 653 to TSX:
- Corsa Extra, Grand Prix, Century TSX
- Corsa
- Strada
1991: The Corsa Extra Max (new quality - Columbus Nivacrom) was introduced, the Grand Prix name disappeared, but the Corsa Extra 753 returned:
- Corsa Extra (Max, 753, SLX), Century TSX
- Corsa
- Strada
1992: Max disappears, a development marked with a separate name - Mx-Leader - appears:
- Mx-Leader
- Corsa Extra (SLX, 753), Century TSX

1996 - ? - no new model emerged, production of steel frames was systematically reduced (although still in 2002 it accounted for 5-10% of total production).
