Latest London stabbing victim ‘hit by car before he died’

A man who was stabbed to death outside a shop in west London may have been hit by a car before he died.

The victim, 22, died in hospital after he was attacked at around 4am on Monday morning in Southall.

He was one of eight people stabbed in the capital this weekend, while a teenage boy who was killed at a skate park in Slough just outside London.

Police are investigating whether the man was hit by a car before he was stabbed.

A witness told the Evening Standard: ‘The poor guy was hit by a car.

‘He managed to get up again and try to run but he was being chased by two or three others on foot.

‘He must have been stabbed after that.’

The Metropolitan Police said officers are working to trace the victim’s family and no arrests have yet been made.

Residents in Southall reacted in shock to the stabbing on Facebook.

One wrote: ‘It seems like everyday news.

‘What is happening to society? Very sad.’

There have now been 105 violent deaths so far in London in 2019 compared to 104 by the same point last year.

A total of 21 victims were teenagers and 39 were aged under 25.
