Standing in a picturesque farmer's field just outside of Chilliwack, British Columbia, I can smell the aroma of dill, chives and cilantro wafting through the air. I may only be an hour outside of Vancouver, but this vast field of green feels like its a world away from the city. My stomach rumbles — being around all these fresh herbs naturally whets the appetite. Luckily, thanks to a growing food community here in B.C.'s Fraser Valley, I don't have to go far for an expertly prepared meal using the very produce that grows just feet away from where I'm standing.
